Bonfire Apple Crumpets

Bonfire of the Verités!        

The observant amongst you will notice that the apples in the photo are not actually caramelised. The truth is that it's very difficult to get the apple slices to stand up once caramelised, and we therefore treated ourselves to a little artistic licence. A truer image is included below.

Preparation: 5 minutes Serves: 4
Cooking: 5 minutes Hot-buttered

Red apples, cored and sliced44
Ground cinnamon4 tsp4 tsp
Muscovado sugar4 tsp4 tsp
Butter20 g0.7 oz

METHOD

    1. Melt the butter in a large frying pan.        
    2. Add the ground cinnamon and sugar, and mix into the butter.                
    3. Add the apple slices and cook on a medium heat for two minutes
    4. Use all your architectual skills to construct a bonfire-like arrangement, add a candle sparkler, light, and bask in the admiration of your astounded guests.
